Cars in German City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then found many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials say preliminary tests suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.

City officials stated they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the community for information.

An important official commented the attack made him speechless and had to be addressed promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
